2020 was a tipping point for most of us. In the midst of a burgeoning pandemic, racial injustice and violence against African Americans seemed to peak with the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd.  These seemed to be the incidents in a decade filled with similar tragedies that exposed, perhaps more than ever since the Civil Rights Movement, that we were still a country divided based on the color of our skin. Like many, I was angry and sad as this narrative of injustice continued. But underneath my anger and sadness, hope existed. 

This hope was, and is, the person of Jesus Christ.  This hope has given me a passion to communicate the significance and sanctity of humanity and how we can live accordingly as Christians. I am aware the Church has not always been on the right side of history with respect to this issue.  Many even question the relevancy of Christianity with respect to racial justice and human dignity. Even now, many have left the church, or are on the verge of doing so, because of how particular segments of the Church are currently responding.

I firmly believe the Christian faith, rightly understood and applied, is the answer not only to this injustice, but all forms of injustice. I also believe the Church should be leading the charge, with respect to the issues of human dignity, ethnic reconciliation, and justice, as implications of the gospel!  It was because of this conviction, my frustration and hope that I felt burdened to start an apparel brand that spoke directly to the dignity of humanity, and I launched DIGNITY × WORTH in September 2020.

DIGNITY × WORTH is a minimalist premium Christian apparel brand that exists to affirm the God-given dignity and worth of every person of all ethnicities, and to generate meaningful Christ-centered conversation.

Our dignity and our worth are derived from our Creator, God, who intentionally and perfectly created us in His image and likeness (Gen. 1:26-27).  Therefore, our dignity and worth are not based on our abilities, accomplishments, accolades, attributes, or the attitudes of others toward us. This truth also negates all false notions of inherent inferiority or superiority.

Every time we see another human being, we are beholding an image bearer of God! You are an image bearer of God. Think about that!  Nothing else in all of creation was fashioned after God like we were! That reality should not only directly affect how we view and treat ourselves, but others also made in the image of God.

Every collection is carefully created and integrated to communicate how valuable humanity is and how a faithful Christian witness is built on our demonstration of our love for God, which is evidenced by how we love other people.
